Marty Estep
I play with color. I love to pour, splash, spread, scrape, pat, and otherwise have a wonderful time immersed in color, paper, and water. I explore and continually work to further develop experimental water media.
Mine is a very active and intuitive process.
My paintings are neither fully abstract nor fully representational. I hint at what the subject might be and somehow I know what is emerging on the page and how, then, to develop it further. I do not plan. I follow. I reach for the color that calls to me next and I add it. My paintings are spontaneous and fun and they generally reflect the colors, organic patterns, and beauty found in nature.
